Hi! I'm Katie Youn, an award-winning Korean-American director, producer, assistant director, and editor based in Los Angeles. Originally hailing from the greater Philadelphia area (go birds), my passion for filmmaking began in middle school when I started making short films for class projects. I now attend USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and pursue a BFA in Film and Television Production. There, I've been involved in numerous student projects—including my most recent directorial project, "GESEUNG," created during the rigorous production course CTPR-310.
Beyond the classroom, I've gained industry experience through internships at Footprint Features and my role as a video technician at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts. As a freelance filmmaker, I've collaborated on a range of independent projects across Los Angeles, including commercials, music videos, and narrative shorts.
Creatively, I strive to express my perspective of our current modern landscape by exploring how everyday people interact with the world, other humans, and themselves. When not working on film-related projects, you can catch me exploring the city, checking out art exhibits, and rewatching Philadelphia Eagles highlights.
